Today in class we almost finished the video germs, guns and steal you also gave us test that was actually really good and It was mybreakfast and lunch so thank you for that. We also went back over the animals that were domesticated there are surprisingly only 14 the ones that I remember are cows, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, bactrians camles, arabia camels, water buffalo, reindeer, yaks and Bali cattle. We also learned about another civilization but I forgot what its called but It it had a air circulation system and plaster on the walls.
Today in class we watch almost all of the Germs, guns and steel video. We learned when plants an animals were domesticated, we also learned more about Draa and how they lived. We learned about the food that was first in some places around the world like rice in china I thought that was cool because rice is still a big staple of their diet. we learned that the first main crops harvested were corn and squash. We learned how people continue to try to tame elephants to be used as work animals. we also learned that zebras are not good work animals because they are a very scared animal because they always have to be on the look out for lions and other pretitors. When you were explaining the difference between a horse and a zebra you did this weird screaming noise and it really scared me.
Today we reviewed the video we watched in class two days ago. We went over things like what the people in Papa New Guinea ate and what they said and the things they did. We also reviewed Jared Diamond, we went over that he was an author, study birds, he is a professor at UCLA,  and he is also a biologist. we also talked about how the three things that make a civilization great are advance technology, large population, and well organized work force. We then were gifted with a pop quiz and I don't mean that sarcastically its was genuinely very easy and gave my grade a good boost. We then compared no red ink into an infection that is unreversable such as herpies or ebola.
We watched a video called Guns, Germs and Steal the main person was Jared Diamond. He is an author, porfesser at UCLA and he studies birds. He usually visits this place called Papa New Guinea. The people here have been there for more than 40,000 year. They still live the way they did when the civilization first started, they are very underdeveloped. One thing that really stuck with Diamond was was one of the people in Papua New Guinea said to him "why you white men have so much cargo, and we new Guineans have so little?". We also learned that all great civilization have something in common advanced technology a large population well organized work forced. We also learned that everyone 1300 years ago everyone was a hunter gather and people in Papa New Guinea are still hunter gathers. We then started to learn about Draa a civilization near the Dead Sea which is one of the earliest permanent civilizations in the world.
Today was the first day of western civ, we went over the rules and what the class was going to be like.  The two important rules I remember are to never play video games and always put your phone up in the holder. One thing that I really liked about Mr.fendryks class was our presentations. Doing all of the presentations in his class made it really easy and comfortable for me to them in other classes. I also really like how we worked with groups or partners so we could get other idea from them and it was easy to finish on time because you can split up the work.
