today in class we took the Rome test... this was the hardest test we've taken in this class according to me, I studied the past to nights and it was still really hard. the part that really got nee was the numbers of the branches of government even though I studied them. I think I did good on the empires after Octavian because I was very interested n that so I had fun learning about it.
today in class we went over everything the will be on the test. we went over all the empires and mainly Philip the great and all the styles of government and all the different branches and hoe it ws very similar to how are government runs today and how if Romes government was not lie that we would not have the rights or freedom we have today.
today in class we took notes for the test n Wednesday and some of the notes we took were: Executive in Rome; two consuls  one year terms  each has veto power  controls military  could appoint a dictator in a crisis for a six month term   Legislative Rome;  senate of 300 people  aristocrats (rich people) 193 members (later 273) members for life  Judicial Rome:  praetors (judges) chosen by the center late assembly  one year term  Twelve tables Rome;  public display in the forum  gave rights to plebeians not just the rich  only applied to white male citizens
Inflation- drastic drop in value of money mercenary- foreign soldiers who ought for money  diocletian- strong willed army leader, became new emperor  Constantinople- New capital protected by large walls in Rome Attila- powerful chief of the Huns 3) Political, social, economic, and the military are all factors to the fall of Rome 4) Diocletian separated the territory into east and west assigning a co-ruler for the East. When he died it failed.  5) After Julius Ceaser died, the empire was chais becoming week. Also when the divided into two, weak spots opened up.

The book and the rap/ powerpoint are a lot alike. In both they follow the path of how Rome came to be, the leaders that took over, the laws and form of government. However, the book goes into more detail of the topics while the rap and powerpoint sum up the most important aspects of each topic.  On the other hand, the rap/ powerpoint included more facts like comparing the US government to the one of Rome and helpful diagrams while the textbook is more about the main topics no so much the extra's. If i had to choose a favorite it would be the powerpoint and rap for it's simplicity, cut to the point manner, great for studying.
1. civil war- conflict between two groups within the same country Julius Caesar- military leader that joined forces with Crassus triumvirate- a group of three rulers Augustus- title meaning "exalted one" Pax Romana- "roman peace" 3. The fall of the Roman Republic was due to Romes increasing wealth and expanding boundaries. The growing discontent among lower classes of society and a breakdown in military order contributed to it as well. 4. Romans were able to control such a large empire because they had a working government system and they had rulers that knew how to fight and control their people. 5. To control Rome, officials tried to provide free games, races, mock battles, and gladiator contests.
